Hamilton County students honor America's veterans
Schools in Aurora, Giltner and Hampton and High Plains Community Schools presented programs in salute of area veterans on Monday for Veterans Day. Student bands played patriotic music, students sang songs honoring the service of veterans, individual service members were recognized and speeches were given by former military members. And all of it against a backdrop of red, white and blue. In addition, the programs at Aurora and Giltner included presentations of Quilts of Valor. At HPC a parade was also held to recognize veterans.
This weeks' Aurora News-Register includes articles detailing three of those programs, as well as the military histories of those who received Quilts of Valor. Find it all in the print or e-editions of this week's ANR. Links to the online versions of the stories are posted below.
