ANR salutes area veterans

The News-Register proudly tips its hat to area veterans in this week’s edition, thanking the men and women who have served and are still serving our country in various ways. Section C of this week's print and e-editions contains a full 10 pages of photos of those locally have have served their country in military service.

Also featured are profiles of two Hamilton County residents who have served their country in years past, one during the Vietnam conflict and another who served during WWII. 

First, Sgt. Donald ‘Don’ Harvey of Aurora is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam beginning in 1966. His harrowing experience is summed up in the article's headline: "I did a lot of praying."

Also featured is  101-year-old Carol Robotham of Marquette who enlisted as a WAC to provide typing and other clerical duties in Atlantic City N.J. during WWII helping free up young men to serve on the battle front.
