Defensive stand gives Storm first playoff win since ‘15
HPC’s Ayden Hans (81) and Hudson Urkoski signal Storm football after a Lawrence-Nelson fumble early in the game. Urkoski would come up with two turnovers on his own merit -- an interception and fumble recovery.
Following postgame handshakes, HPC players Neddy Lesiak (77) and Maddix Fuhrman quickly and sneakily made their way to the water coolers and doused coach Greg Wood for the Storm’s first playoff win since 2015, excluding the Osceola-High Plains Stormdogs cooperative playoff runs of 2018-19.
For three quarters, High Plains and Lawrence-Nelson played a defensive slobberknocker with 12 combined points.
