It’s time to ‘Make Appeal to Heaven’

Body

Dear Editor:
Since Greg and I were carrying an unusual flag in the A’ROR’N Days Parade, an explanation is due.  The flag we carried is a replica of the first flag used in our nation. George Washington commissioned the naval ships during the Revolutionary War, to fly the “An Appeal to Heaven” flag.  George Washington knew they had no chance of winning the war outside the gracious hand of God; therefore, An Appeal to Heaven.
Recently, Justice Alito’s wife was faulted for flying An Appeal to Heaven flag at their summer home. CNN called it a symbol of insurrectionists.  Call us what you want, but it is time to make An Appeal to Heaven. Living in such a nice community as Aurora, it’s easy to be out of touch with what is going on in our country/world, but we dare not forget the “real world” and without divine intervention, we are sunk as a nation.  Many people across this nation are making their “appeal to heaven.” Just this past week I learned that the governor of Tennessee, supported by both houses, has declared July as a month of prayer and intermittent fasting!  It is interesting, at the last two meetings of our local Hamilton County GOP, discussion of fasting and prayer has arisen, leading the group to declare three days of fasting and prayer July 1-3. I encourage each of you to look up the Resolution made by the State of Tennessee for this month of prayer and fasting.  Let’s join them!
Turning away from God as a nation has been disastrous; statistics proven! There is a way that leads to life. Get on that path; make your ‘appeal to heaven;’ get involved in fighting for righteousness. Be men of Issachar (I Chronicles 12:32). Burying your head, takes away life!
