Holiday fun in Hampton
Hampton's 3rd Street came alive with Christmas cheer Sunday night for the annual Christmas in Hampton celebration. Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance, there were hayrack rides, S'mores, hot chocolate and more as the village rang in the Christmas season.
North Pole visitors come to Giltner
Santa and Mrs. Claus traveled from the North Pole to visit kids in Giltner for the town’s Santa’s Christmas Memories event on Saturday. From left, Dustin Wall, Declan and Brynlee Casto were among the few kids who were a little nervous meeting Santa for the first time.
High Plains Community Hall of Fame grows by four
Three individuals as well as a championship basketball team were all inducted into the High Plains Schools Hall of Fame on Friday, Dec. 1. The induction ceremony took place just prior to a basketball game and was attended by 12 of those being honored or their family members.
4R board selects study firm
The Aurora 4R School Board selected BVH of Lincoln Monday as the architectural firm that will conduct a study assessing the district’s facilities. Having heard presentations from four companies Nov. 28 explaining their scope of services, the board took very little time to make a decision during Monday’s regular monthly meeting, with hopes of BVH getting started on the project perhaps yet this year.
Hampton awards bids for test water well
The village of Hampton could have some answers to the future of its water situation by the end of February thanks to action taken by the village board at Monday night’s regular meeting. Miller and Associates Engineering, the village’s engineering firm, brought bids from two well drilling companies that had submitted proposals to drill a test well in a search for a second well for the municipal water supply.
