Joan Rodine

Joan Rodine, 88, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at a nujrsing home in Bend, Oregon.
Joan was born Dec. 5, 1933 in Sutton to Raymond and Eleanor (Wiard) Elfring. She attended school in Sutton for four years, and graduated from Hastings High School in 1951. Joan attended Hastings College and the Mary Lanning School of Nursing where she received her RN degree in 1954.
She was married to John Rodine on June 16, 1955 in Hastings. She and John then moved to California where she worked as a surgical nurse.
Both of their children were born in California, Lori Rodine Marsala and Jeff Rodine. In later years they moved to Bend, Oregon to be close to their daughter.
Those left to cherish her memory are children, Lori (Rodine) Marsala of Bend, Oregon and Jeff Rodine of California, three grandchildren and one great-grandson; sister Georgie Sinner of Aurora and sister Sharon Furr of Concord, North Carolina, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws, one sister, three brother-in-laws and one sister-in-law.
Joan was cremated and laid to rest by her husband in the Bend, Oregon cemetery.
