Fight for 2nd Amendment rights

Dear Editor:
I’m asking today that the citizens of Hamilton County support our resolution to make Hamilton a Second Amendment Sanctuary county.
The Biden administration has started to take steps to fulfill their promise to dismantle the Second Amendment. Across the state of Nebraska, counties have been declaring themselves Second Amendment Sanctuary counties, which means the county officials, the sheriff’s department, and the citizens will stand united in our support of our constitution, our Second Amendment rights. Gov. Ricketts signed a proclamation making Nebraska a sanctuary state.
Passing this in Hamilton County would show solidarity with the rest of the state to our standing on our 2A rights. The legislature currently has a bill before it, LB 188, which once passed would decare us legally as a sanctuary state. It is currently being held up in committee and the voices of Nebraskans don’t seem to be being heard.
We need them to listen to us and pass this bill. Once lost we’ll never get our 2A rights back again, so the time to fight for them is now. Message our county commissioners and ask them to pass this resolution.
