Hordville native to begin role June 27

Michelle Broekemier, a Hordville native with 20 years experience in the healthcare industry, has been hired as the new administrator at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora.
The pending administrative change was announced this week by Rod Schroeder, Westfield’s chairman of the board.
“We are delighted to have Michelle coming to lead Westfield as our new administrator,” Schroeder said. “As our board of directors got to know her through the interview process, it became very apparent Michelle is passionate about providing the best care possible for our residents and will be a great fit with our dedicated staff.”
Broekemier will begin her role June 27, replacing Chris Young, who resigned last month to accept a similar position in Falls City.
“I am looking forward to being the administrator of Westfield Quality Care, providing high quality care to the residents, families, staff, and the community,” Broekemier said. “I am dedicated to providing high quality care to the residents. I am very customer driven and want to provide the best possible service to the residents and I strive to have highly-trained staff to meet the needs of the residents while having a great working environment.”
Broekemier comes to Aurora with 20 years’ experience in healthcare. She started her career as a CNA and worked her way through nursing school, where she graduated with a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She continued her educational path by completing an associates degree in long-term care administration and then completed a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management.
For the past 15 years she has been with York General in various leadership roles, focused the last four years as administrator at Willow Brook Assisted Living.
“I am looking forward to becoming acquainted with the Aurora community,” Broekemier added. “My involvement right now comes with my election to the Central Community College Board of Governors, where Hamilton County is one of the six counties that I serve.”
Broekemier was raised in Hordville and later moved to Central City to raise her family. She and her husband, Jonal, currently live in Central City. The Broekemiers have three sons, Noland, Noah and Derrick, as well as two grandchildren.
“Providing high-quality care is not just a passion of mine, but also my three sons as they also work in the healthcare industry,” she noted.
