In a follow up to a recent “Where Are They Now?” featuring Aurora native Lindsay (Hattan) Gould, Elizabeth Hunter brings an article about her sister, Jacque Carden who works at the same Nebraska Children's hospital in Omaha. The story chronicles Carden's journey from growing up in Aurora to her education and career path which eventually led to back to Nebraska to work at the same hospital and live in the same town as her sister. Students at Aurora and Hampton high schools are participating in new program aimed at raising up future educators from among the ranks of home-grown Nebraska kids. Educators Rising is a program that has been around for several years in larger schools in Nebraska such as in Omaha, but thanks to the efforts of ESU 6 and ESU 9, this is the first time it is being extended to schools in the rest of the state. In a front page story in this week's ANR we'll hear from the teachers and the six students involved in the program locally to hear their stories.  READ

Murder and mayhem was afoot on the rails last weekend as Aurora High Presented its spring play, a comedy murder mystery set on a train. See photos from “Murder On the 518” in this week's ANR. More pictures 

French foreign exchange student Noham Borie is winding down his year at Aurora High School and says while he has struggled to become proficient in English, he finds himself enthralled with the community's hometown spirit. You'll find his story on Page A6 of this week's edition of ANR. READ

The Easter Bunny showed up early in Aurora to participate in a Tempo Performing Arts Studio fundraiser to provide scholarships so more kids and families can participate in the studio's programs.
