Aurora’s Cottonwood Gallery & Arts is set to welcome an exhibition by local artist Madison Vetter.
The exhibition, titled “Collected Works of Honest Fiction,” is a collection of mixed-media art done by the local, most of which aim to focus on the layers behind humans and society.
“This one is about layering,” he said. “And not just layering of different colors. There’s a lot of portraiture. It’s kind of trying to capture the different layers of people.”
People’s personalities have layers, too, he voiced.
“There’s the person you are at work and the person you are at home,” Vetter noted. “We all play different parts, depending on where we are and the circumstances. So I’m trying to capture that.”
There are also a few abstract pieces as part of the exhibition, more in the fantasy realm.
“Maybe who we want to be, how we would like to see the world if we could make it the way we want,” he described. “It’s about color and space and time and combining elements.”
A massive influx of information can seem unconnected, but it’s not, Vetter added.
