Vettel says family excited with opportunity

Monday’s “Meet with Pete” event drew more than 70 constituents to the downtown offices of International Workforce Services in Aurora, where company owners were invited to share their mission and early success story with Sen. Pete Ricketts.
Todd Vettel, who formed the company two years ago with his family, said he was contacted not long ago by Ricketts’ staff in search of a venue to host Monday’s event. He said he and his family, including parents Dave and Crystal and brothers Tim and Trevor, all of whom were in attendance Monday, were happy to accommodate the request and used the opportunity to share the growing vision for IWS.
“I opened with introducing what International Workforce Services is as essentially a specialty trade school, servicing skilled laborers from abroad,” Vettel explained. “I talked about how we partner with immigration firms that do legal immigration and how the legal channels work, sort of pointing out the differences between illegal immigration and legal immigration, which was obviously a part of his speech.”
Vettel said the point was made that it is helpful to contrast what is often the perception of immigration as “one large, nasty cesspool,” though in his view that is not the case.
“We talked at length about skilled laborers coming here seeking the American dream, and the 200 some success stories that we’ve imported,” he said of Ricketts’ 15-minute Q&A after the public meeting. “We really kind of just bounced that topic around for the majority of the time. That’s kind of how it panned out. I think we were able to introduce IWS to the senator and his staff and answered their questions, so we were excited just to have that opportunity.”
