Class protocol has changed in wake of COVID pandemic

  • Students in Aurora FCS classes now have to take extra precautions when learning about food and more.
    Students in Aurora FCS classes now have to take extra precautions when learning about food and more.

    While most classes were more easily transitioned to being socially-distanced and non-touch heavy, Family and Consumer Science subjects rely heavily on having students participate in hands-on activities in subject areas like cooking and design. 
    “I typically provide the students with the majority of supplies,” FCS teacher Valerie Hinrichs said. “Due to increased sanitizing procedures, I requested students provide some materials on their own. I also have to sanitize each and every pencil, marker, hole puncher, etcetera, the students use.”
