Out on the north side of the downtown square, from the lower level concrete behind the brick ribbon to the east side of Mitchell’s Recreation, employees of Ott Concrete
Construction worked on the sidewalk as part of a preventative maintenance project from the city. A section in front of Mo-Net’s was replaced last week as well.
According to Adam Darbro, the city’s utility superintendent, this is part of the city’s yearly efforts to repair and improve sidewalks and other parts of the city, one area at a time.
“We see the priority on replacing them if we get one that’s in worse shape than another, then we try to budget for those every year to do some of the repair,” Darbro explained. “Obviously, we can’t replace all of them at once, but we try to budget to repair portions of it.”
