Dine United for homeless

Body

As the basic act of providing food and shelter becomes more difficult for local families, the cry for action echoes louder than ever before. Join the Heartland United Way during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week for Dine United on Tuesday, Nov. 16.
The Heartland United Way is teaming up with Crisis Center, Hope Harbor, Salvation Army and local food pantries to raise awareness and funds to help fight hunger and homelessness in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick counties.
Local restaurants participating in Dine United will donate a portion of their sales, or make a set donation, on Nov. 16 to fight hunger and homelessness.
Participating restaurants in Hamilton County include: Love’s Travel Stop, Pueblo Viejo, Rath’s Cafe, Subway and Sit n’ Bull in Giltner. Other participants in the region include Afternooners Inc., Bonzai Beach Club, Dairy Queen (Grand Island Locations), Hy-Vee Market Grill, Juice Stop, La Pena (St. Paul), Lee`s Family Restaurant, Inc., , Qdoba Mexican Grill, , Runza
(Grand Island locations), Sin City Grill, , Sluggers Sports Bar & Grill, Texas Roadhouse, The County Cage (St. Paul), The Medina Street Vault

“Dine United is a day for you to “dine out” to help those in need have a night in. At restaurants who are joining in this act of local love, a portion of your meal proceeds will be reinvested in food and shelter for people in need,” said Karen
Rathke, Heartland United Way president. “Check out the list of participating restaurants to enjoy a meal, support the restaurant and know you are sharing warm meals and safe shelter with others.”
