After a lengthy discussion on the county’s proposed (and now approved) budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year, the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners meeting took regular form Monday, quickly bringing up a few upcoming holiday favorites.
Aurora Chamber of Commerce director Justise Rhoden addressed commissioners Monday morning regarding a pair of returning community events on the calendar in October and November. These events, as in years past, will use part of the courthouse square and lawn, thus requiring prior permission.
Rhoden’s appearance, alongside chamber board member Jeni Obermier, also gave a sneak peek at what is to be expected with the fast-approaching holiday season.
“I know it seems like we’re talking about it pretty early, but it’ll be here before we know it,” Rhoden said. “So we’re just asking permission again for Scare the Square, where we usually put the banner up on the bandstand. And then last year, we were trying to get Beck’s Inflatables to be on the courthouse lawn.”
