Will the need to 'roll up your sleeve' ever end?

At home we have the calendar displaying our schedule for the day. Of course the calendar is full of more obligations than a retired couple should ever have. A week ago I spotted a note saying,  “shots” which caused me to question the Betterhalf.
“Oh, that is for our shots at the med clinic,” she said. I answered, “Look, I already feel like a pincushion. I’ve had four COVID shots and I don’t think I need anymore.”
That’s when she answered it was not for COVID, but for the whooping cough. Momentarily I was caught off guard  before responding. And she then clarified my questioning.
Now, it’s time for a little background. We are about to become great-grandparents in a few weeks and the doctor had advised the mother-to-be, people who are around the new babies (twins are due) need to have a whooping cough vaccination.
You can imagine how far my protest to a vaccination went. I tried to tell the Betterhalf she wasn’t the grandmother and there were two grandmothers ahead of her waiting to do some cuddling of the new duo. I also cautioned her that the new family might be concerned about an older lady intervening in the “mass” cuddling of the newborns.
Needless to say, my concerns went unheard. The good thing about this story is my whooping shot didn’t  hurt.

Did you hear about the guy’s warning during an argument when he said, “I should warn you that underneath these clothes I’m wearing boxer shorts and I know how to use them!”

Finally college basketball season is over. Particularly, we like to watch many of the national top teams on evening TV. Generally my viewing finishes about my regular bedtime. That means it’s a challenge to stay awake. But, when I do, the hype of the game cranks up my emotions to the point I can’t go to sleep until a long time after the final whistle has blown. Hopefully regular sleep hours will now return.

It’s been reported that dogs come when they are called; cats take a message and get back to you.

Obviously this comment was made by an individual who didn’t agree with the jury’s decision. He said, “When you go to court you are putting your fate into the hands of 12 people who weren’t smart enough to get out of jury duty.”
