Trial verdict lacks accountability
Body
Dear Editor:
In my opinion, accountability and driver responsibility were dismissed after the recent verdict in the trial concerning the death of Dave Schwartz.
Just because a highway has a posted speed limit sign, doesn’t mean that is the safest speed to go. Our driving decisions should vary when there are road workers, flashing lights, weather issues and conditions that need our undivided attention. We should all keep our eyes on the road, removing possible distractions to make travel safer, which should be everyone’s goal.
I didn’t know Dave Schwartz, but feel compassion for his family with this latest “punch in the gut.”
Bonnie Campbell,
