Proud of write-in campaign effort

Body

Dear Editor:
As a recent write-in candidate for the Aurora City Council, I want to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Aurora who supported and believed in my campaign. Although the results did not go in our favor, I am immensely proud of the effort we put forth and the issues we brought to light.
Running as a write-in candidate, with all the unique challenges it entails, was never an easy task. Yet, the support I received from friends, neighbors, and volunteers affirmed that the people of our community care deeply about making a difference.
Our community deserves strong, compassionate leadership, and I hope that the city council and mayor will work tirelessly to address the concerns we all share. I urge them to consider the voices of every resident as they move forward, including those of us who sought change through this campaign.
Though I may not hold a seat on the city council, my commitment to Aurora remains unwavering. I plan to stay involved, collaborating with community organizations and advocating for the issues that inspired me to run: transparency, accountability, and a reduction in local spending. Together, we have already raised awareness and started conversations that will hopefully inspire lasting change. As residents, please do not sleep on the issues of the city. Keep informed and involved.
Thank you once again to everyone who supported my campaign and thank you to the residents of Aurora for giving me this chance to serve. The journey doesn’t end here; let’s continue working together to make Aurora a better place for all.
Jannelle Seim,
Aurora
