Dear Editor:
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I feel that someone who is paid to write a “community news” column for the paper should save their political opinions for the “opinion” section of the newspaper; that is what it is for.
We are subjected to a barrage of politics everywhere we turn without having to read it where it does not belong.

America dealing with two major
issues, not well
Dear Editor:
We live in perilous and consequential times, as individuals and as a constitutional republic. We are in the midst of a momentous struggle to determine if we can keep any semblance of the republic with individual freedom and prosperity that our founders gave us, or if we take a detrimental and irrevocable turn towards a tyrannical Marxist/globalist government. Our founders warned that it would require a well-informed and virtuous citizenry to keep it. I submit, currently, we have neither.
America is currently dealing with two gravely consequential events -- electoral integrity and impeachment. I intend to demonstrate Nebraska, as well as many other states, have two senators who do not represent their constituents or maintain their oath to uphold the Constitution.
While Sen. Sasse is much more open with his self-righteous bloviating concerning his principles and integrity, Sen. Fischer, though more reserved, is just as guilty of violating her oath. Having been approached by many of his constituents, Sasse says he “has a responsibility to tell the truth” as to why he will not be representing their wishes. He states his allegiance to the Electoral College Act of 1887, rather than the Constitution, which supercedes any legislative act. He further states “not a single state is in legal doubt.” He parrots the Democrat talking point, “there is little evidence of fraud, and what evidence there is would not change the winner of the presidential election.” He goes on to proclaim, “We have good reason to think this year’s election was fair, secure, and law-abiding.” He concludes by saying, “the best way we can serve our constituents is to tell the truth as we see it.”
Facts, Mr. Sasse:
Arizona -- margin for Biden, 10,457
Absentee ballots returned on or before the postmark date, 22,903; non-citizen voters, 36,473.
Georgia -- margin for Biden, 11,779.  Under age voters; 66,247; voting machine irregularities, 136,155.
Michigan -- margin for Biden, 154,818. Absentee ballots requested under the name of a registered voter w/o consent, 27,825; no address on file for voter, 35,109; no corresponding voter registration number, 174,384; voting machine irregularities, 195,755.
Nevada -- margin for Biden, 33,596. Double voters in state, 42,284; no address on file for voter, 8,000; non-citizen voter, 4,000.
Pennsylvania -- margin for Biden, 81,660.   Absentee ballots returned on or before the postmark date, 58,221; over votes, 202,377.
Wisconsin -- margin for Biden 20,682.  Absentee ballots cast without statutorily required application, 170,140; voting machine irregularities, 143,379.
Article II, Section 2 says the state legislatures shall determine the time, manner and place of elections.  Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Nevada violated their legislatures laws, and therefore the U.S. Constitution.
Senators Sasse and Fischer, by voting to accept illegally chosen electors, violated their oath!
Regarding the latest sham impeachment, the indisputable facts demonstrate President Trump had nothing to do with the violence of Jan. 6.  First protestors arrive at Capitol 12:40 p.m.; Capitol Police Chief sees officers attacked at 1 p.m.; Police Chief requests National Guard at 1:09 p.m.; Trump speech concludes at 1:11 p.m.; Capitol breached at 1:50 p.m.; speech attendees arrive at Capitol at 1:56 p.m.
Catherine Herridge of CBS confirms timeline and the first pipe bombs discovered at 12:45 p.m. The FBI released a report of intelligence warning of a “planned attack” days earlier. John Sullivan, a BLM leader, is on tape bragging about the “planned” violence.
President Trump was fraudulently impeached for “inciting an insurrection.” How does one “incite” on Wednesday what was planned days earlier?
Sen. Sasse has voiced approval of the impeachment, and expressed his strong leanings for convicting.
Senators Sasse and Fischer, “facts are stubborn things”! Your votes and statements leave one to decide either you are ignorant or you are dishonest. Informed and virtuous, apparently neither.
