Weather dictates many aspects of everyday life, but can particularly impact those in the agricultural community. Tyler Williams, a cropping systems educator with the Nebraska Extension spoke during a Conservation Nebraska webinar about how the changes in climate are affecting ag and what people can do to make changes.
“I always start off my presentations by asking people when you hear the word climate change or global warming what image pops in your head?” he began. “I’m going to guess that most of you had an image of a polar bear sitting on ice.”
The problem he has seen with that mindset is that it makes the issue distant for people that live in places like Nebraska. His goal is to find ways to make climate changes resonate with the farming community.
