High Plains comeback falls short

High Plains spotted the West Point Guardian Angels a 22-point first quarter lead Friday in the season opener for both teams, and then fought back with a furious second-half rally to have a chance to win. Facing a fourth and four from their own 15 with 2 minutes to play, Storm quarterback Jabe Wertz had an open receiver, but the ball was knocked down at the line of scrimmage, ending what would have been a go-ahead drive.
