Nadean A. Seymour

Nadean A. Seymour, 83, of Grand Island died Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Wedgewood Care Center, Grand Island.
 Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Inurnment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery, Grand Island.
 Family will be receiving friends, Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Apfel Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.  Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
 Nadean A. Seymour was born November 27, 1930 in rural Giltner, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Salmon) Derr.  She grew up in Giltner where she received her education, later moving to Grand Island.
 She was united in marriage to John Seymour, October 9, 1948 in Grand Island.  The couple made their home in Grand Island where they raised their family.  She was later employed at Delicious Foods and Gosda Carwash.


Suzann Rae Koozer

Suzann Rae Koozer, age 76, of Aurora, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 27, 2014 from her home.
Suzann’s wishes were to be cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 5 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora.  Rev. Mary Scott will officiate.  Private family burial services will be held at the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hamilton County Cancer Fund or the Aurora United Methodist Church.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at
Suzann Rae Koozer and her identical twin sister were born on February 4, 1938 at Geneva, the sixth and seventh children of Roy Hill and Ruby Elizabeth (Severns) Miller, with Suzann being the sixth.


Edna Marna Christensen

Edna Marna Christensen, the daughter of Thorvald Hansen and Olga (Jensen) Hansen was born near Marquette, on July 28, 1917, and passed away at Judson Park Health Center in Des Moines, Washington, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
Edna grew up on a farm in near Marquette, and graduated in 1935 from the Marquette High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kronborg.
Edna married Roy Thyge Christensen on August 4, 1937 at the Hansen family farm near Kronborg. They made their new home at the Christensen farm near Hordville.  They had two daughters Justine Mattie and Nadine Edna. Over the years Edna was very active member at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, as Sunday school teacher, member of women’s guild and other church celebrations.


William Jack "Bill" Robertshaw

William Jack “Bill” Robertshaw, 91 of Giltner, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Giltner with the Rev. Mahlon Richardson officiating.  Burial will be in Giltner Cemetery, Giltner, with military rites by Doniphan American Legion Post #300. Visitation hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Giltner.  Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Giltner.  Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.


Robert V. Grosvenor

Robert V. Grosvenor, 84, of Jefferson City, Mo. died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at St. Mary’s Health Center.
He was born on May 5, 1930, in Aurora, the son of the late Verne and Helen Gertrude Pence Grosvenor.
He was married on June 8, 1958 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Janice Elaine Trimble who survives at the home.
A 1948 graduate of Aurora High School, he attended Doane College in Crete.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the cavalry.
He retired as an executive with Sinclair Oil Company with whom he had served in Rapids City, South Dakota, Omaha and Lincoln.  Following retirement in 1979 the couple moved to Lake of the Ozarks which they enjoyed very much.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and was active in Yesterday’s Kids; Shiloh Lodge No. 327, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Omaha; and Winterset Dance Club at Lake of the Ozarks.


Emil Joseph Kluck Jr.

Emil Joseph Kluck Jr., 88 years old of Everett, WA passed away quietly on Wednesday, October 15 in Everett, Washington.
The funeral will be held October 25 at 9 a.m. at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Yakima, WA.
 Monsignor Ecker officiated.
  Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetary in Yakima, WA.
  A Rosary Service will be held on Friday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Langevin Mussetter Funeral Home.
  Emil was born April 10, 1926 to Emil Sr. and Mary Rose (Chott) Kluck.
 Emil was currently married to Joan Morrissey Kluck.
 He met Mary Helen Gray at the St. Paul’s young people’s group in 1952 and they married on June 20, 1953.  They raised four children together. In 1967, Emil moved the family to Ellensburg, WA.  In April 1970, Mary Helen passed away.


Marie Peters

Marie Peters, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born on December 23, 1914, to Cornelius and Katherina (Peters) Koop at their farm home near Henderson.  She went home to be with her Lord on October 19, 2014, reaching the age of 99 years.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized on May 21, 1934 by Rev. John F. Epp.  She joined the Bethesda Church where she remained a faithful member until her death, helping with Sunday school teaching and was an active member of Mission Circle I, working on the relief committee.  
On April 20, 1941, Mom was united in marriage to Henry O. Peters, sharing almost 55 years of wedded bliss.  To this union were born four children:  Patricia, Eleanor, Linda and Larry.


Patricia Ann (Schrock) Juett

Patricia Ann (Schrock) Juett, 80 of Grand Island died Sunday, October 19 at Prairie Winds Assisted Living Community at Doniphan.
Celebration of life service was held Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.  Pastor Jay Towell officiated.  Burial of ashes was in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Patricia (Pat) was born February 26, 1934 at Shelton, the daughter of George and Rosie (Sadd) Ellis.
Survivors include her children, Ted (Debbie) Schrock of Murrieta, CA, Jolene Schrock of Grand Island and Melody (Josh) Sage of Giltner and sister, Jeanne Stark of Hastings.
Those also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Samantha Schrock (Petzoldt), Catrina Schrock, Jon Schrock, Jr., Maggie Schrock (Lees), Jeramiah Schrock, Travis Schrock, Levi Schrock, Matthew Schrock, C.J. Hawthorne, Chandler Williams and Emma Wray and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jon Schrock and brothers, Tommy and George Ellis.


Thomas Murray Campbell

Thomas Murray Campbell, age 95, of Murfreesboro died Saturday October 18, 2014. He was a native of Giltner,  and graduate of the University of Nebraska. Murray was an aviator and retired from the United States Navy after 25 years of service with the rank of commander.  He had worked in Manufacturing Sales after retiring from the service.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his wife Florence Campbell, parents Lloyd and Gladys Campbell, brother Donald Campbell, and sister Marian Barger.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his children Gary Campbell and wife Mary Kay of Illinois, Robert Campbell of Nashville, Tom Campbell and wife Jane of Murfreesboro, Cindy Goldsby and husband Tal of Arkansas, grandchildren Jacob, Heather, Audrey, Talmadge, Matthew, Kyle and Haden; great-grandchildren Jason, Jonathan, Olivia, and Tiner; sister, Glee Volk of Wyoming and brother Rod Campbell of Illinois.


Annetta Pauline Hitzemann

Annetta Pauline Hitzemann, 95, of Tecumseh, (formerly of rural Elk Creek), passed away October 14, 2014 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh.  She was born to George W. and Bertha Pauline (Geyer) Burow in rural Nemaha County.  She was baptized March 23, 1919 and confirmed September 18, 1937 at St. James Lutheran Church, rural Humboldt.   Annetta attended Grove School in rural Nemaha County through the eighth grade.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Hitzemann on September 5, 1940 at St. James Lutheran Church.  To this union two children were born, LaVelle and Dianne.  
Annetta was an involved homemaker and farm wife.  She also worked outside of her home as a cook at the Elk Creek Public School and at Scotty’s Grocery in Elk Creek.
