Deloris Evaretts

Deloris Evaretts, age 85, formerly of Aurora, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Waverly Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 17 at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Rev. Howard Rasmussen will officiate.  Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Deloris Elaine Evaretts, the daughter of Albert Henry and Lora Lee (Kennedy) Peters was born at Neligh, on June 12, 1930, and passed away at Waverly, on March 14, 2016, at the age of 85.
She grew up in Neligh, where she attended school.  Deloris helped her parents out at home caring for her 12 brothers and sisters.

Wayne Troester

Wayne was born on June 3rd, 1935, to John and Clara (Driewer) Troester on a farm near Hampton.  God blessed Wayne with many wonderful chapters of life.
He attended Hampton Lutheran School through 8th grade and graduated from Hampton Public School in 1953.  After high school, he enlisted in the military.  He was united in marriage to Phyllis Giebelman on July 24, 1955, in Hampton, where they farmed for 30 years while raising five children.
After farming, he worked for a John Deere dealership in Aurora for many years.  Following retirement, he and Phyllis served as volunteers at the Covenant Cedars and Timberlake camps in the Hordville area and also with Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service (RVICS) where they traveled throughout North America working on service projects. In 2010, they moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where Wayne volunteered with Edmond Mobile Meals and Mercy Hospital. They loved their Quail Springs Baptist Church family.

Larry Driewer

Larry Driewer, age 60, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his home.
 Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 19 at Zion Lutheran Church, northeast of Hampton.  Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate.  Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Larry Allen Driewer, the son of Lewis and Evelyn (Rathje) Driewer, was born in York, on August 3, 1955 and passed away in Hampton, on March 13, 2016, at the age of 60.
 He grew up in Hampton and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Hampton High School.  Larry attended University of Nebraska at Lincoln for one year.

Henry E. Cramer

Henry E. Cramer, age 92, of Aurora, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.
 Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 22 at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora.  Rev. Bob Gannon and Rev.  Henry (Heinrich) E. Cramer, the son of Enne and Hinrike (Bless) Cramer, was born in Germany on June 20, 1923 and passed away in Aurora, on March 11, 2016, at the age of 92.

Colonel Gary Bannister, MD

Retired Colonel Gary Bannister, MD; 81, a long time active resident of Boerne, TX passed away Saturday March 5, 2016 peacefully in his sleep, in his home after a valiant fight with cancer.  He is predeceased by his father Bill, his mother Helen and his brother Bob.
Gary is lovingly remembered by his four children; Linda Bannister and spouse Kevin Hornung, Laura Bannister and her children; Gehrig and wife Ashley Grosso as well as her son Reese Grosso.  He is also survived by his son Gary Bannister Jr. and daughter Lucy Bannister - fiancé Ken Maldonado.   He is also survived by his great grandchildren Aiden and Melonie; children of Gehrig and Ashley Grosso and his grandson Branson Bannister, son of Gary Bannister Jr.

Gladys 'Ruth' Jones

Ruth Jones, 94, of Aurora, died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at CHI-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, March 12 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Mary Scott and Stacy Tipton will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Gladys ‘Ruth’ Jones, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys (Burrier) Bouchard, was born in Tamora, Neb. on Feb. 20, 1922. She grew up in the Utica area. Ruth met her future husband, Willis Jones, at a dance. They were married May 16, 1940, the night of her high school graduation from Utica High School.

Lad J. Havlik

Lad J. Havlik, age 81, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Lad Havlik, son of Ladimer and Mary (Novak) Havlik, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 2, 1935 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on March 3, 2016, at the age of 81.

Kirk Douglas Lager

Kirk Douglas Lager, 62, of Lincoln, died March 3, 2016.  Kirk was born on June 23, 1953, in Aurora to Kenneth and Betty (Sims) Lager.
The funeral service was held on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Butherus Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St, Lincoln. Visitation was held on Sunday at the funeral home.
He is survived by wife, Jackie Lager of Lincoln; daughter, Annastasia Lager of Lincoln; son, Kris (wife Regina) Lager of Omaha; grandchildren, Khristian, Karmen, Journey and Korrina; brother, Ken Lager; sisters, Sue (husband Paul) Hartshorn; Christine (husband Randy) Zeorian; Jolene (husband Bryan) Spale; nieces, Karri, Mandy, Sonya, Wendy, Danielle, JoNita, Cari, Bridget, Tonya, Angela, Alexa, Maddie and MacyClaire; nephews, Quentin, Jordan, Jason; many cousins, other family and friends
He is preceded in death by his parents, cousin Rick Larson and nephew Kelly Hartshorn.

Larry Francis Collingham

Larry Collingham, age 64, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home.

Georjean 'Jean' Sorensen

Georjean ‘Jean’ Sorensen, age 89, of Aurora, formerly of Marquette, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Hamilton Manor.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 7 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Rev. Ben Erzkus will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Georjean Nora Sorensen, the daughter of George and Sigrid (Berg) Jensen, was born in Crescent, Iowa on January 13, 1927, and passed away in Aurora, on March 3, 2016, at the age of 89.
Jean grew up in Crescent, Iowa and was one of 11 children.  She spent her childhood helping care for her siblings and with farm chores.
