Dorothy Troester

Dorothy Troester, age 84, of York, formerly of Hampton, passed away Monday, December 1, 2015 at the York General Hearthstone.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 4 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton.  Rev. Jim Gruber will officiate. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery south of Hampton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Dorothy Jean Troester, the daughter of Harold August and Louise Anna Marie (Berger) Hoffman, was born in Lincoln, on March 8, 1931 and passed away in York, on December 1, 2015, at the age of 84.

Donia Van Landingham

Donia Van Landingham, age 72, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Memorial Community Care after a long battle with cancer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 12 at Evangelical Free Church in Aurora. Rev. Vance Christie will officiate. Donia Rae Van Landingham, the daughter of Claude and Rosa (Miller) Edelman, was born at Mullen, on January 9, 1943 and passed away in Aurora, on November 28, 2015, at the age of 72.

Everett Lou Goertzen

Everett Lou Goertzen, 81, of Polk, Nebraska died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at York General Hospital.  Funeral services will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Polk with Reverend Dave Hellerich officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Solt-Wagner funeral home in Polk.  Burial will be in the Arborville Cemetery.

Harlan B. Kohtz

Harlan B. Kohtz, 98 of Albion, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society-Albion in Albion.
Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, with Rev. David Frerichs officiating.  Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion.  Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion. Harlan Bruno Kohtz, the son of Otto B. and Emilie Dahlke Kohtz was born on April 27, 1917 at Hampton. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, and received his education at Zion Lutheran School.
Harlan farmed with his Dad for a time before doing various other jobs. He attended Trade School in Chicago where he became a certified Welder and Pipe Fitter. He welded on many of the LST units in the Chicago Ship Yards which were used in WWII.

Wilferd J. Braun

Wilferd J. Braun, age 89, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 25 at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.  Rev. Andrea Wall will officiate. Private Family interment will be in the Bethesda Cemetery in Henderson at 9:15 a.m. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Wilferd J. Braun, the son of Isaac and Emma (Peters) Braun, was born on a farm west of Henderson, on October 26, 1926 and passed away in Aurora, on November 22, 2015, at the age of 89.
He grew up on a family farm and graduated from Hampton High School Class of 1944.

Loren Hunnicutt

Loren Hunnicutt, age 94, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Primrose Retirement Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora. Revs. Karl Larson and Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date. Loren Elton Hunnicutt, the son of Otto Clifton and Bessie May (Detamore) Hunnicutt,  was born at Giltner, on January 1, 1921 and passed away in Grand Island, on November 18, 2015, at the age of 94.

Charles Butler

Charles Butler, 90, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, died Saturday, November 14, 2015.
To honor Charles’ wishes cremation has taken place.  Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.  Military honors will be rendered by the US Navy and Grand Island Veterans Honor Guard.  Reverend Mark Dunham will officiate.
Charles was born March 17, 1925 in Phillips, to Charles and Elva (Walker) Butler.  He grew up and attended school in Aurora, graduating from Aurora High School.  Charles entered the United States Navy as a Seabee (Member of the United States Naval Construction Forces) on July 5, 1943.  He was honorably discharged February 4, 1946, after serving tours of duty in New Guinea and the Philippines during WWII.

James Topham

James Topham, age 78, of Harvard, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015, at Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard.
 A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Aurora Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harvard Rest Haven or the American Legion Post #61 of Sutton.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
 James Harold Topham, the son of Fredrick and Minnie (Wright) Topham, was born at Giltner, on July 7, 1937 and passed away at Harvard, on November 13, 2015, at the age of 78.
 Jim grew up in Aurora and attended Aurora Public Schools.  He served his country in the United States Navy from January of 1956 until September of 1957.

Jordyn Brown

Jordyn Brown, age 19, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015, at her home following an illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 18 at the Aurora United Methodist Church.  Burial will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family asks that you wear purple to the service since that was Jordyn’s favorite color.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jordyn Brown Benefit Fund at any Cornerstone Bank. Jordyn Chantelle Brown, the daughter of Tera Smith was born in York, on April 12, 1996 and passed away in Aurora, on November 14, 2015, at the age of 19.
Jordyn grew up in Aurora and attended the Aurora Public Schools.

Mary Elizabeth Convoy

Mary Elizabeth Conroy, age 70, of Bella Vista, Ark. passed away Tuesday, November 10 at her home. Mrs. Conroy was born in Wood River, Nebraska on October 19, 1945 to Roy and Wanda Robinson Hofrichter who preceded her in death. She was a retired Human Resource Manager.
She is survived by her husband, Max Conroy; one son, Max and his wife, Maria Conroy; one daughter, Mindy and her husband Joel Salts; seven grandchildren, Chloe, Noah, Layney, Gabriel, Brynley, Aurora and Vivian.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21 at 11 a.m. at the Village Bible Church, 1591 Forrest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. The family will be at their home, #1 Belvoir Lane, Bella Vista, AR 72715. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Rogers, AR.
