Dolores Schulze

Dolores Marie Schulze was born on October 20, 1923 to Henry and Matilda (Stach) Schulze, at home on the family farm in rural Hordville. Dolores was the oldest of four children born to Hank and Tillie, followed by three ornery little brothers, Lavern, Marvin and Ervin.  Dolores resided at the Aurora Memorial Care Center and was called Home to be with Jesus on March 28, 2020 at the age of 96.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a service will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at a later date.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Cremation. No visitation.  Memorials may be designated to Hampton Lutheran School or Immanuel Lutheran School (Polk).  Memorials may be sent in care of Jill Weisheit,  980 17th Street, Henderson, NE. 68371

Jennifer Hoffman

Jennifer H. Hoffman age 69, of Falls City, formerly of Lincoln, passed away March 25, 2020.  She was born August 25, 1950 in Hampton, to Leonard and Esther (Heider) Troester.
Jennifer is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Troy James and Joni Hoffman of Falls City, grandchildren Frances, Anthony, Tucker and Emmett; brothers Myron Troester of Lincoln and Rich Troester of Omaha; nephews Justin of Lincoln, Chad of Omaha, niece Shauna of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Hoffman, her parents and grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Wyuka Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time on March 30.  (Due to Covid-19, we will be following the CDC rules on gatherings in public).

Larry Maw

Larry LeRoy Maw was born March 12, 1931 in Giltner and passed away March 10, 2020 at the Veterans Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. He was 89 years old.
He will be buried in the Veteran’s Cemetery in Illinois. Cremation will take place.
He is survived by his son, Jim Maw of Aurora, Colo. and sisters Marlene Henthorn and Cherie Ott, both of Aurora and sister-in-law June Maw of Florence, Colo.

Virginia Nuss

Virginia Nuss, age 85, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2020, at The Homestead in Lincoln.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place at this time, a Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 26 at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.  Pastor Mike Reiners will officiate.  Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  It is strongly encouraged that those feeling ill or who are part of an at-risk population stay home.  During visitation, social distancing methods of no hugging or hand shaking will be practiced. Paul Buller

Paul Buller, age 67, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Henderson Hospital.

Paul James Buller, the son of Alvin and Esther (Schroeder) Buller, was born in Aurora, on Nov. 15, 1952 and passed away in Henderson, on March 18, 2020, at the age of 67.

Daniel Eastman, age 57, of Giltner, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 13, 2020, at CHI-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner with a Rosary before the service at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Giltner Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Giltner Community Center in Giltner.  Dan would have wanted everyone attending the services to be casual and wear their Husker gear.  Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Daniel Charles Eastman, the son of Vern and Eileen (Read) Eastman, was born in Grand Island, on August 29, 1962 and passed away in Grand Island, on March 13, 2020, at the age of 57.

Larry Gavin Shafer

Larry Gavin Shafer, 86, of Lincoln passed away peacefully at home March 1, 2020 surrounded by his entire posse. Larry was born on January 28, 1934 in Marquette, to Virginia (Gavin) and Dr. J. E. Shafer. Larry attended Aurora schools and graduated in 1951. He graduated with a business and economics degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1955. After attending two years of law school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served three years with the Nebraska National Guard.

Kathleen Hobson

Kathleen Lydia (Kay) Walford Hobson, 86, of Lincoln, passed away March 9, 2020. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (GG), aunt and friend.
She was born in Lincoln and adopted by Arthur and Beryl Walford of Gresham. Graduated from Gresham High School in 1951 and attended Hastings college for 1 year. Married the love of her life Tom Hobson in March 1952. They made their home in York and welcomed twin daughters Karen Kay and Sharon Beryl in 1958. Moved to Aurora in 1967 where they owned and operated H&H Appliance. Kay worked as a legal secretary, bookkeeper in H&H, and the county treasurer’s office for many years.

Clyde Obermeier

Clyde William Obermeier, 94, of Giltner, died Saturday, March 7 at Westfield Quality Care Center in Aurora.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 11 from 5-7 p.m., with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner.
A mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at the church at 11 am.  Burial is in Westlawn Cemetery in Grand Island at 2:30 pm.  All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Clyde was born on August 23, 1925 in Giltner to Edward and Alice (Sundermeier) Obermeier. He was raised and received his education in Giltner, graduating in 1942.
On August 23, 1947, Clyde was united in marriage to Rita Kline at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Harvard. He wanted to be married on his birthday so he would not forget their anniversary.
Clyde was a long-time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner and a member of the Knights of Columbus. As a hard-working farmer, Clyde was also a loyal John Deere customer.

Dr. Donald James Ediger, 75, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 at First Free Church, 3280 S 84th Street, Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Lincoln Pregnancy Center or Woods Tennis Center.
