Donna Maurine Wacker

Donna Maurine Wacker (of Edgar) 91 years, passed peacefully at Mary Lanning Health Care, Hastings, February 11, 2018 from complications of Alzheimer’s. Donna was born February 2, 1927, on the family farm near Otego, KS in Jewell County to Philip Norman and Lona Irene (Black) Underwood.
Left to cherish her memory are her children and spouses: David L. Wacker Sr. and Polly, Linda and Micheal Nuss and Martha Wacker; grandchildren: Andrea Nuss Davenport, Stacy and Rustin Riley, Natalie and Derek Meyers and David Wacker Jr.; great-grandchildren: Samuel, Alexis and Jonathan Davenport, Mason, Carter and Everhett Riley, and Darin Meyers; sisters-in-law Donna Allen Underwood and Carol Nash Underwood; special friend and caregiver Carol Appleby, caregivers Ellie Clark and Dennis Nevin.

Wayne Rennau

Wayne Rennau, 82, of Alda, died on February 9, 2018 at Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday February 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with the Reverend Mike Reiners officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday February 13 at Peace Lutheran Church.  Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Wayne was born on November 7, 1935 at Aurora, to Claude and Susie (Salmon) Rennau. He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School. He was united in marriage to Betty Mader on September 23, 1956. They farmed at Phillips for a year before moving to the farm south of Alda where they lived for 54 years, before moving to Grand Island in 2012.
Wayne’s love of farming began as a young boy working on his Uncle’s farm near Stockham. He spent his entire working life raising crops and cattle.

Tom D. Rodabaugh

Tom D. Rodabaugh, 67, of rural Marquette died Thursday, February 8, 2018 with his loving family at his side at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17 at All Faiths Funeral Home, Grand Island.  Daniel Naranjo will officiate.  Casual dress is requested.  To honor Tom’s wishes cremation has taken place.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Tom was born January 22, 1951 at Grand Island, the son of Emery and Phyllis (Grotzky) Rodabaugh.  He graduated from Grand Island Northwest High School class of 1969.  Following high school, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College.
Tom married Joni Perrett and to this union were born a son, John and daughter, Billie.  On July 5, 1997 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Vickie Montgomery.

Barbara M. Handrup

Barbara M. Handrup, age 88, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Bryan/LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 13 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg.  Rev. Kristine Schroeder will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Barbara Mae Handrup, the sixth child of Thomas S. and Clara Marie (Rasmussen) Hermansen, was born at Dannebrog, on June 13, 1929 and passed away in Lincoln, on February 8, 2018 at the age of 88.

Jeffrey Heiden

Jeffrey L. Heiden, 54 of Grand Island died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at CHI Health-St. Francis due to trauma incurred from a fall at his work.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home, Grand Island.  A Christian wake service will begin at 6 p.m. with Father Marty Egging leading.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend David Feddern will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service.
Jeffrey was born July 29, 1963 at Central City the son of Ronny and Harleen (Johnson) Heiden.

Bertina Anderson

Bertina Anderson, age 83, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Jan. 31, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln after a short illness.
A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m., at the Monroe Evangelical Free Church in rural Hamilton County. The family will greet guests following the service and at the fellowship lunch.
Bertina Ruth Beins, was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Aurora to Harold and Amy (Lockhart) Beins.
Bertina was raised on a farm, attended country school and then graduated from Phillips High School in 1952. Bertina was known, during her growing up years, for her baton twirling, her hard work on the farm, and raising prize 4-H calves.  Bertina then continued her education at Clarkson Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha, where she became a registered nurse.

Nicolas Pachta

Nicolas Pachta, age 17, of Aurora, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, due to injuries received from a car accident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Rev. Loras Grell and Very Rev. Rudy Oborny will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1420 9th Street, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Nicolas Daniel Pachta, the son of Daniel and Jaime (Nicolas) Pachta, was born in Aurora on June 6, 2000 and passed away in Aurora on Feb. 2, 2018, at the age of 17.

Doris Plummer

Doris M. Gustafson Plummer, 91, of Central City, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 in Wahoo. Memorial services will be Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Central City with Pastor Tom Lucas officiating. There will be no visitation and burial will be at a later date.

Doris was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Hordville to Carl and Stena (Djernes) Hansen. Doris spent her entire life in Hamilton County until June 1991 when she moved to Central City in Merrick County. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1943 and after attending Normal Training in Central City, taught in rural schools for four years.

Myrtle Buller, age 93, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Myrtle Marie Buller, the daughter of Frank and Jennie (Ortegren) Anderson, was born at Marquette, on September 29, 1924, and passed away at Aurora, on January 28, 2018, at the age of 93.
Myrtle’s childhood was spent on a farm near Marquette.  She attended school at District 89 and graduated from Marquette High School in 1942.

Buddy Tuttle

Buddy Tuttle, age 95, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 31 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church. Buddy ‘Bud’ Lyle Tuttle, the son of Arthur and Elna (Flint) Tuttle, was born in Cushing, on March 10, 1922, and passed away at Aurora, on January 27, 2018, at the age of 95.
Bud graduated from Marquette High School in 1939.  He served in U.S. Army during World War II.  He was stationed in the South Pacific for 38 months and was awarded the Purple Heart.  Bud was honorably discharged on November 30, 1945.
