Barbara Ann Griffith Weems

Barbara Ann Griffith Weems, Atlanta, Texas, passed from this life on May 25, 2019 at her home. She was born on the family farm at Aurora to Andrew and Gertrude (Neuhart) Griffith on Feb. 25, 1941. She attended rural District 82 through the eighth grade, graduated from Aurora High School in 1958 and later Bellevue University while living in Ord. While living in Ainsworth and Ord she was a paralegal for her husband’s law firm. Barbara was the retired Foundation Director of the Atlanta Memorial Hospital Foundation. She was a member of the local book club, garden club and the current president of the Women’s Association for the Northwood Presbyterian Church.

Eileen Joan (Blase) Forsman

Eileen Joan (Blase) Forsman, a resident of Memorial Community Care in Aurora, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
A Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Evangelical Free Church in rural Hamilton county, following a brief public inurnment service at 10 a.m. at the Aurora cemetery, near Aurora. Eileen was born southwest of Polk, on Jan. 30, 1932, at the home of her parents, Victor and Emilie Blase. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, also of rural Polk. After attending the church school through the eighth grade, she finished grades 9-12 at Hordville High school, graduating in 1949.

Albert H. Epp

Albert Epp was born Sept. 17, 1931, at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kan. He was the first son born to John Epp Jr. and Marie (Harder), and was the third of what would become eight siblings. It was the depression era and even though times were very tight Albert never remembered going without basic necessities.
Albert grew up on the farm by Whitewater, Kan. and his parents farmed the very land that his German speaking grandparents had purchased from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1876 when they migrated from West Prussia. During Albert’s grade school years he attended Brainerd Grade School and during the summers would attend six weeks of Vacation Bible School which consisted of half day German school and half day Bible school. Later Albert would write, “I grew up on a Kansas farm, and the farm is still in my DNA.”

LeRoy Schultz

LeRoy Schultz, age 90, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at CHI/St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 15 at the Mennonite Brethren Church, 1201 11th Street in Henderson. Pastor Luke Haidle will officiate. Interment will be in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. LeRoy L. Schultz, the son of John L. and Helena (Loewen) Schultz, was born in Hillsboro, Kansas on Dec. 28, 1928 and passed away in Lincoln, on June 12, 2019, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 13 days.

Richard F. "Dick" Wiles

Richard F. ‘Dick’ Wiles, 73, of Phillips died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Phillips Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Uldrich officiating.  Interment will be at the Phillips Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday evening at the church in Phillips.  Memorials are suggested to the Phillips Volunteer Fire Department and the Phillips United Methodist Church.  Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.
Richard ‘Dick’ Wiles was born on Jan. 8, 1946 in Grand Island, the son of Ralph and Virginia (Taggert) Wiles.  He grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1964.  Dick was united in marriage to Sharon Regier on Aug. 13, 1967 in Henderson.  The couple made their home in Phillips where Dick worked at Bonnavilla Homes.
Dick enjoyed bowling, softball as well as all sports.

Vera Morine (Trimble) Burchett

Vera Morine (Trimble) Burchett, 94, of Lincoln, passed away June 9, 2019.  She was born March 21, 1925 to Olna and Anna Florence (Long) Trimble in Harrisburg, MO.  She was married to Milton Frank Burchett on Dec. 23, 1943 at Springfield, MO, they celebrated 68 years together.  
She was known as Vera by many friends in her later years and as Morine by many friends from earlier years.  She was employed as a bookkeeper at First National Bank, Ellis Holyoke Investments, and at Wentz Heating and Air Conditioning.  She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church for many years and served as financial secretary there.  She lived in Aurora from 2010 to 2015.  She was famous among family and friends for her Christmas dinners, her interest in politics, and in later years, her support and love for Mike Evans ministries, especially the Jerusalem Prayer Team.

Ramona Lea Johnson Baney

Ramona was the youngest of seven children, with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She was born in Marquette, to Carl E. and Sarah G. Herron on June 16, 1931.
The family moved to Aurora in a few years and she attended school there graduating in 1948.
She helped her older sister on the farm for about 2 years.
In 1950 she went to work at the Ordinance Plant in Grand Island during the Korean Conflict.
While working at the Ordinance Plant she met and married Ralph E. Johnson on Dec. 13, 1952. In the fall of 1953 they moved to York and their first child Rick was born in 1954. Soon after the birth of a daughter Rhonda, the family moved to Tempe, Arizona in August of 1956.

Former Trumbull resident Martha Sue Ginn, 76, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard.  
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. The family requests casual attire if attending service and visitation. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday with the family present, and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Sheila Gramm

Sheila Gramm, 51, of Sioux Falls, SD died Friday, May 25, 2019 at Ava’s House (Hospice Facility).
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m., with service at 1 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Mitchell, SD. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Dr. Lucky’s in Mitchell. Arrangements by Will Funeral Chapel.
Sheila is survived by her husband, David Gramm; son, Daniel Jameson; daughters, Shalyn and Risa Holloway; mother-in-law, Ethel Gramm; sisters, Susan Scott and Linda (Kevin) Finnigan; brothers, William Moore, Kenneth (Sheila) Moore, Gary Moore, and Mike (Lisa) Moore; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Lawana) Gramm, Jerry Gramm, Mike (Paula Arthur) Gramm; sisters-in-law, Mary (Rick) Pierson, Shelly (Daniel) Fridley, Cathy (Dale) Gramm; two grand-daughters, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Shirley Moore; father-in-law, Merlin Gramm.

Debora M. Stephens

Debora M. Stephens, 62, of Aurora, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, at CHI Health St. Francis after struggling with health issues for years.  Cremation was requested.  A Celebration Gathering remembering Debora’s life will be at a later date.  Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Debora was born Jan. 4, 1957, at Piscataway, NJ. She was the daughter of John and Eunice (Weber) Coote.  Debora was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister.  
She is survived by her children: Dan Lebida, Julianne Allbee and Josh (Trisha Theis) Stephens; grandchildren: Daniel John (D.J.) Allbee Jr., Rachael Allbee and Evan Lebida-Golden and one greatgrandchild, Karlie Wrich; sisters, Dianne (Kevin) Coote, Dorene (Timothy) Flannigan and Denise Schenck.
Debora is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Katlin Allbee, and two ex-husbands.
Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Juli Allbee, 2715 W. Koenig St.  Grand Island, NE  68803.
