Doris Plummer

Doris M. Gustafson Plummer, 91, of Central City, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 in Wahoo. Memorial services will be Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Central City with Pastor Tom Lucas officiating. There will be no visitation and burial will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to Central City United Methodist Church, Central City Senior Center, and Hospice and Home Healthcare of Saunders County. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com.
Doris was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Hordville to Carl and Stena (Djernes) Hansen. Doris spent her entire life in Hamilton County until June 1991 when she moved to Central City in Merrick County. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1943 and after attending Normal Training in Central City, taught in rural schools for four years.

Myrtle Buller

Myrtle Buller, age 93, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 2 at the Evangelical Covenant Church. Rev. Karl Larson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Myrtle Marie Buller, the daughter of Frank and Jennie (Ortegren) Anderson, was born at Marquette, on September 29, 1924, and passed away at Aurora, on January 28, 2018, at the age of 93.
Myrtle’s childhood was spent on a farm near Marquette.  She attended school at District 89 and graduated from Marquette High School in 1942.

Buddy Tuttle

Buddy Tuttle, age 95, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 31 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church. Buddy ‘Bud’ Lyle Tuttle, the son of Arthur and Elna (Flint) Tuttle, was born in Cushing, on March 10, 1922, and passed away at Aurora, on January 27, 2018, at the age of 95.
Bud graduated from Marquette High School in 1939.  He served in U.S. Army during World War II.  He was stationed in the South Pacific for 38 months and was awarded the Purple Heart.  Bud was honorably discharged on November 30, 1945.

Agnes Kliewer

Agnes Kliewer, age 100, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 29 at the Stockham Community Church in Stockham. Rev. Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Friesen Cemetery west of Henderson at 10 a.m.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Agnes Koop Kliewer was born on October 13, 1917, along with a twin brother Chris to Cornelius H and Katherina (Peters) Koop in York County.  She died at Memorial Community Care, Aurora, on January 24, 2018 at the age of 100.

Mary Alice (Burns) Spray, age 91, of Aurora, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Memorial Community Care.

James L. Condon

James L. Condon, age 70 years, passed away January 14, 2018 in Republican City. Jim was born on July 6, 1947, in Aurora, to John and Hazel (Olsen) Condon. He graduated from Aurora High School Class of 65 and University of Nebraska with a Degree in Chemical Engineering.  Every year he enjoyed marching with the UNL alumni band.   In 1970, after graduating from UNL, Jim and Shirley Moller were married and they spent 47 years together.
Jim served as a military intelligence officer in the United States Army, four years on active duty, and ultimately retired after 30 years as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserves and National Guard.  In recent years he was actively involved with ROTC and the Pershing Rifle alumni to encourage increased student participation in these important programs.

Sutton resident, Evon C. Griess, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Fairview Manor in Fairmont.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton with Rev. Joe Vusich officiating.  Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery with military honors by the Sutton American Legion Post #61.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton.

Marjorie "Marji" Beach

Marjorie “Marji” Beach, 75, of Oak Island, NC, passed away on December 5, 2017, after a long battle with COPD.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. in Aurora, on January 27, 2018.  The service will be held at the Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association to help fund research to find a cure for COPD.  A reception to honor Marji’s life will be held at the Bremer Center in Aurora following the service.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

John Larry Buller

John Larry Buller died on January 13, 2018 at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.
John Larry Buller was born August 13, 1949 at York Hospital, York. He was the second son of John Band Susie R (Janzen) Buller. John Larry was born with Down Syndrome, which just meant he tried harder.
John Larry spent his first years growing up on the family farm southeast of Henderson, just down the hill from Lushton.
John Larry started school in Lushton. He then attended school in Lincoln at LARC (Lincoln Area Retarded Citizens) when he was 9. He lived with the Whitaker family in Havelock. John Larry moved to Martin Luther Training Center in Beatrice when he was 16, as LARC was closing; living in their dormitories. After 2 years in Beatrice at the Martin Luther Training Center; he was placed at University of Nebraska, Cather Pound Dining Services (City Campus as he called it)

Tom Olsen

Tom Olsen, age 69, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 16 at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.  Rev. Tom Olsen, the son of Edwin Leroy (Roy) and Cleo Delores (Stienke) Olsen, was born at Holdrege, on November 15, 1948, and passed away at Omaha, on January 11, 2018, at the age of 69.
