Gretchen Louise (Titman) Hancock

Gretchen Louise (Titman) Hancock, 80, Lincoln, passed away June 3, 2017. She was born February 5, 1937 in Aurora, to Merton and Maude (Pauley) Titman.
A  graduate of the  University of Nebraska and a former teacher, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority,  served as treasurer of  the Junior League of  Lincoln, and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, George W.; sons, Doug and Brian Hancock, Lincoln; granddaughters, Emily and Sophia; twin brother, Gregory Titman, Maine; sister, Susan (Paul) Fuller, Illinois; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd., Lincoln with Rev. Dr. Andrew McDonald officiating.

Marlys Ann Christensen

Marlys Ann Christensen, 85, formerly of Valentine, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Edgewood Vista in Grand Island.  A family graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Armada Cemetery in Miller, Nebraska.
Marlys was born on December 8, 1931, in Aurora, to Albert and Lela (Mideke) Spencer.  She attended school in Aurora where she was an enthusiastic participant in Y-Teens, Tomorrow’s Nifty Teachers organization, and Glee Club, and graduated in 1949.  Marlys studied at the University of Nebraska Lincoln Teachers College where she met her future husband, and graduated in 1955.  Following graduation, she taught elementary school in Ogalalla, Nebraska.

Harland P. Epp

Harland P. Epp age 100 of Aurora, formerly of Henderson, died Saturday, June 03, 2017 at Aurora.
He was born November 21, 1916 in York County to Peter M. and Margaretha (Rempel) Epp on a farm two miles south of Henderson. Harland began school in District 31 and finished the eighth grade in District 62, two miles north of Henderson. When going to school he rode horseback graduating from Henderson High School in 1935.
While growing up he played the banjo with his brother Eldon who played the guitar at church and on various occasions.
Upon his profession of faith, Harland was baptized on June 5th, 1938 by Lillie’s uncle Reverend A.W. Friesen and accepted into the fellowship of the Bethesda Mennonite Church. He was a lifelong and faithful member and served as a church usher.
Harland found the love of his life, Lillie Friesen, and four years later, on April 16, 1939 they were married. To this union were born four children: Joann, Kenneth, Julia and Philip.

Lester Glenn Ljunggren

Lester Glenn Ljunggren (98) passed away at the Harvard Rest Haven on Thursday, June 1, 2017.  Visitation with family present will be Monday, June 5, 2017 at the United Church of Christ in Harvard, from 5-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning June 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Murray Wilson Funeral Directing in charge of arrangements
Lester was born April 3, 1919 to Rudolf and Ida (Bieck) Ljunggren on a farm north of Harvard.  Lester lived there almost his entire life--only taking time away to serve his country in WWII and briefly after he married Laura Louise Smith on February 10, 1947.  He attended a country school prior to graduating from Giltner High School in 1939.

Colene Heiden

Colene Heiden, age 88, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Memorial Community Care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton.  Pastor Miles Ruch will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Colene Joyce Heiden, the daughter of Andrew and Clara (Burrow) Christiansen, was born in rural Hampton on May 24, 1928 and passed away in Aurora, on May 21, 2017, at the age of 88.
Colene graduated from Hampton High School in 1946.

Shirley Bottorf, 88, of Grand Island died May 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Apfel Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Schultz will officiate. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Shirley was born on February 22, 1929, in Grand Island to Thomas and Hattie (Maxon) Korn. She grew up in Grand Island.

Dorothy Ruth Bish

 Dorothy Ruth Bish, died at home on Monday, May 8, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at the retirement community where she resided: Hillcrest Country Estates, 6021 Grand Lodge Avenue, in Papillion on Saturday, May 27 from 2-4 p.m.
Dorothy was born June 1, 1929 to John and Imogene (Splinter) Florea on her parent’s farm southeast of Aurora. She was the eldest of two children. Dorothy graduated from Aurora Public High School and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Kearney State College.

Marilyn Lyn (Mick) Wolff

Marilyn Lyn (Mick) Wolff, age 60, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 9 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hampton.  Pastor Jim Gruber will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Stringfield Law Office (PO Box 777, Caldwell, Idaho 83606) to be held in trust. The family is working to establish a memorial fund to provide financial assistance to help children participate in community activities.
Marilyn Lyn (Mick) Wolff, the daughter of Arnold and Naomi (Adams) Mick, was born in Henderson, on May 9, 1956 and died in Meridian, Idaho on May 2, 2017, at the age of 60.
