Aurora’s ‘anchor’ of track success

For Kyla Carlson, the cancellation of the spring sports season brought on by the coronavirus pandemic was devastating.

Her last lap at Burke Stadium turned out to be pretty anticlimactic. It was an 8th place effort as the anchor of Aurora’s 1600 relay team. Of course, at the time, everyone thought she’d have one last hurrah.
Unfortunately, Burke’s hallowed grounds will remain eerily quiet this weekend on what would have been Nebraska’s state track and field meet. Carlson looks back, and forward, on her track career in this week's ANR.
