Aurora district’s curbside meal program expanded

Aurora Public Schools began providing curbside meals for the district’s children age 1-18 last week, extending its food assistance program with the help of federal funding.
Supt. Damon McDonald noted that the Aurora Public Schools Foundation had offered to help provide meals for preschool and younger children, but before that plan could be implemented the US Department of Agriculture announced it would do the same nationwide. The expanded program now offers free meals to ALL children in the 4R District.
“We’re just grateful we are able to provide the opportunity to receive food for those who need it right now and we’re happy the federal government has provided a way to do that,” McDonald said.
