Conservation NE shares the dirt on composting

Krissy Kreienkamp with Conservation Nebraska is encouraging people to get down and dirty with a variety of ways anyone, from those in apartments to living on farms, can try composting.
“Compost is a mixture of various decaying, organic substances, such as dead leaves that can be used for fertilizer,” Kreienkamp explained.
She noted that there are options to fit a wide range of situations. This included vermicomposting, or using worms to direct composting, where a person just puts kitchen scraps in a hole in the ground.
