Meyer on final lap of education career

During his time at High Plains Community Schools, Steve Meyer has taught many lessons and seen the school grow and change, but the longtime Storm coach and teacher is looking at the next chapter with plans to retire at the end of the 2019-20 year.
At the beginning of his career, Meyer taught social studies and physical education in Hordville for two years. He noted that the next 13 years he was with Polk-Hordville while his final 20 years were spent at High Plains.
“When I started in Hordville. I taught some social studies classes and all the physical education,” he said. “When I moved to Polk-Hordville I taught mostly all social studies classes. Then when we switched to High Plains, I taught American government and the rest were physical education classes.”
