It will be the first year in some time that the Huskies won't play March basketball.

Saturday was a tall task for the No. 16 Huskies, visiting No. 1 Omaha Skutt Catholic in the B-1 district final. When it was said and done, the Skyhawks defeated Aurora 72-58.

The Skyhawks advance to the state tournament while the Huskies end its season 12-13. It's the first time since 2015 that Aurora misses out on the boys state tournament.

It wasn't for lack of effort, as Aurora cut Skutt's lead to 10, 55-45 with 5:23 to play in the game.

However, like they did in the first quarter, Skutt powered ahead with an 8-0 run to end any Aurora upset chances.

Nate Boerkircher led the way for Aurora with 18 points. It was the final game for himself and fellow senior Kaleb Moural.
