Huskies compete well at state

A decade has passed since Aurora had this type of representation at the state wrestling championships. The Huskies sent eight -- one of the highest totals in Class B -- to the CHI Heath Center in Omaha and saw varying levels of success.
Most impressive was all eight Huskies winning at least one match. That helped the Huskies finish ninth in Class B with 62 points.
Aurora coach Derek Keasling had plenty to be excited about or in other scenarios dwell over, but seeing all eight of his state qualifiers win a match was special.
“It’s awesome to see what we did this year,” Keasling said. “It’s been a decade since we brought this many kids to state. Not only that, but everyone we brought here scored points. They might not have been big points, but they all won a match.”
