Three area wrestlers came back strong after semifinal losses to earn medals Saturday morning at the NSAA state wrestling championships at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.

Aurora's Trevor Kluck and Brekyn Papineau finished third and fifth at 138 and 182, respectively, while High Plains' Jarrett Parsons earned a third at 160.

Kluck bounced back from his first loss of the season Friday night with a pair of dominating wins -- a pinfall over Columbus Lakeview's Joel Lemburg followed by an 11-2 major decision over Blair's Hank Frost to finish third. It was the second time at the state championships Kluck and Frost met, with Kluck winning in overtime during the quarterfinals. The third place medal is Kluck's third of his high school career in as many tries.

Papineau lost his first match of the day by major decision to Arlington's Kobe Wilikins, but bounced back to defeat Boys Town's Jay Ballard by pinfall to finish fifth. The finish is Papineau's first state medal in his first appearance.

Parsons closed out his high school career on top, picking up two wins to finish third. The Storm senior defeated Tyler Coleman of Hemingford by a 3-1 decision and in his final match, beat Thayer Central's Jackson Feulner with a 4-2 decision. The bronze medal is Parsons' first state medal in his second appearance.

Two area matches remain as Aurora's Caden Svoboda at 106 and High Plains' Dylan Soule will compete Saturday afternoon for gold medals.
