At max, the High Plains wrestling team could have sent six wrestlers to next week's state wrestling meet.

They had one of the best efficiency rates in the state, qualifying five for the state tournament.

Dylan Soule, Jarrett Parsons, Javier Marino, Kolby Beck and Hunter Gress all punched tickets to the state wrestling meet in a solid showing for the Storm wrestling team.

Soule was HPC's lone district champion at 170 while the team finished fifth with 89 points.

Marino was a runner-up finisher at 126 while Parsons took second at 160. Both Gress and Beck finished fourth in their respective 152 and 220 divisions.

The state wrestling meet begins Thursday from the CHI Heath Center in Omaha.
