It was a solid night all around for the Aurora boys and girls basketball teams, picking up wins over Lexington at home Saturday.

The boys game came down to the wire as a Boerkircher lay-in with 13 seconds left put the Huskies on top 35-34.

Lexington took a 3 on the other end that was unsucessful, but still had a chance with 3 seconds left and an in-bounds play.

However, the Husky defense forced a turnover and held on for the 35-34 victory.

Boerkircher and Tate Nachtigal combined for 27 of Aurora's 35 points.

In the girls game, the Lady Huskies pulled away late for a 44-32 win.

It was a close game through the first three quarters with Aurora leading 30-26 entering the fourth.

However, the Lady Huskies outscored the Minutemaids 14-4 in the fourth quarter behind a balanced offensive attack to get the win.

Kassidy Hudson led the team with 12 points.

Aurora will host Crete next Friday night in its next contest on the schedule.
