Velma Ruth Burrows was born in Giltner April 19, 1933 to William Ruel Burrows and Ethel (Lindgren) Burrows. She passed away in Missouri Feb. 5, 2020 at the age of 86 with family by her side.  
She donated her body to science and the family will have a private interment later of her ashes.
Velma belonged to various church clubs as a member of the Giltner Methodist Church and later The Aurora Methodist Church.
She started a 100 Mile Club while living in Giltner to walk 100 miles during the spring and summer with neighbors.
Velma enjoyed family times, making her famous noodles and working in her flower garden!
She worked for American Greeting Cards for 24 years.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are three daughters and spouses, Dottie and Jeff Lash of Ozark, MO, Shari and Victor Jones of Nixa, MO and Sandie and Mark Palmer of Omaha.
She is also survived by her brother and wife Wally and Marge Burrows and sister Shirley Suck, both of Grand Island, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents and son Dave, sisters Marge Ready of Giltner, and Wylda Sauer of Denver, CO, brother-in-laws Jim Ready, Dave Sauer and Don Suck.
As per Velma’s wishes any memorials in her memory are to be sent to a Women’s Shelter of your choice!!
