Commissioners discuss, sign raises for elected officials, deputies

Questions regarding proposed salary increases for a number of elected officials stirred considerable discussion during Monday’s county board meeting.
During budget discussions commissioners were adamant and vocal on keeping almost all elected officials and their deputies, unless previously discussed, to a 2 percent raise. It should also be noted that in Resolution No. 1042 it specifically states that an elected official’s (chief) deputy should be kept at 80 percent of their elected official’s salary.
