HPC shoots past Hampton

Hampton and High Plains’ boys basketball teams each entered Thursday night coming off a win the week before, looking to build on recent success. 

High Plains had a big night from the free throw line as the Storm defeated Hampton 49-34 Thursday night in Polk. 

The Storm went to the line 44 times in all during the game, making 23 of those. Keaton Van Housen led the team by making 10 of 16, including five of six in the fourth quarter. 

High Plains was led by Van Housen’s 18 points while Tanner Wood added 13. For Hampton, Ty Capek scored seven while Jackson Block, Christian Eckhardt and Landon Parsley each scored six.
