Boerkircher to walk-on at Nebraska

Nate Boerkircher grew up a fan of the Huskers. Next fall, he'll have the 'N' on his helmet.

The Aurora senior signed a letter of intent to walk on at the University of Nebraska to join the Huskers on National Signing Day.

During his senior campaign, Boerkircher hauled in 35 passes for 467 yards and four touchdowns -- all team highs. He averaged just over 13 yards per reception with a long catch of 30 yards.

He was also fourth on the team in total tackles with 48 including five for loss and two forced fumbles.

Boerkircher will join his brother, Ian, as well as fellow tight end Austin Allen as former Huskies now playing for the Huskers.
