It was a much-needed win for the Aurora girls basketball team Friday night.

After two late-game losses last week, the Lady Huskies took the lead and pulled away late in a 42-27 win over Columbus Lakeview.

The win was the first for Aurora coach Cole Carraher as the Lady Huskies move to 1-2 on the year.

A hot start offensively gave Aurora a 14-7 lead and they never looked back from there.

Aurora was led by Cassidy Knust with 13 points while Kassidy Hudson added 9.

The Lady Huskies are off until next Friday when they host York.
