Giltner and BDS put on a show for the ages Tuesday night in the CRC championship match at the York City Auditorium.

BDS won the first two sets and was a match point away from sweeping Giltner, but the Lady Hornets eventually forced a fifth and deciding set, where the Lady Eagles outlasted Giltner, 25-9, 25-23, 25-27, 22-25 and 17-15.

During the match, Hannah Preissler recorded her 2,000th career assist after totaling 49 in the match. The senior now has 2,039 for her career in 237 sets played.

Giltner led for much of the fifth set, including 7-3, 12-8 and had match point at 15-14 after an Amanda Whisenand kill. However, BDS rallied with three straight to take the match and the CRC crown.

Cassidy Tompkin led the team with 23 kills while Sydney Janzen and Whisenand had 10 apiece. Whisenand had four ace serves while Janzen added three. Janzen also led the team with 27 digs while Sydni Watson had 18, Whisenand 15, Tompkin 13 and Preissler 10.

Giltner enters postseason play with a 19-9 record. Subdistrict brackets will be released Thursday.
