Lady Huskies take runner-up at districts

For a fifth consecutive year, the Aurora girls cross country team qualified for the state meet. 

The Lady Huskies placed three runners in the top 15 as Aurora finished runner-up in the C-3 district meet held at Streeter's Park in Aurora. The Lady Huskies finished with 46 points, second to MIlford with 36. 

Senior Kyla Carlson led the Lady Husky pack with a fifth place finish and a time of 20:58.67. Elena Kuehner and Julia Smith broke the tape in 11th and 12th, respectively and times of 21:29.14 and 21:37.63. 

Also competing at state next Friday in Kearney for Aurora is Hannah Donnell, Kaitlyn Oswald and Taylor Pickinpaugh. 

The Class C girls race begins Friday at noon.
