Huskies take runner-up at C-3 meet

A runner-up finish from Aurora's Dylan Riley helped the Huskies earn runner-up honors as a team Thursday at the C-3 district meet. 

Riley, a junior, was 11 seconds off the winning time, finishing at 17:06.25 in what was a home race for Aurora at Streeter's Park. 

The Huskies placed two others in the top 15 as Max Wiarda was fifth in a time of 17:31.08 while Kane Fiala came home eighth in a time of 17:33.89. 

Aurora was second in the team standings with 32 points, coming up just short of Malcom's 28. 

Also competing at next week's state meet in Kearney for Aurora will be Isaac Bisbee, Eli Warnke and Gradyn McDonald. 

The Class C boys race will begin Friday at 1 p.m. in Kearney.
