‘Millennial Farmer’ explains importance of connection

As years progress and the age of the American farmer morphs into something new, it is no surprise to most that with the new style of farming comes a unique spin on just about everything else related to the way of life.
The first of two keynote speakers for Aurora Cooperative’s Owners Acres fall program and tour was an example of just that. At 9 a.m. sharp, on a stage inside the well-decorated Farr Building on the fairgrounds, self-proclaimed “millennial farmer” Zach Johnson took the stage.
The young farmer from Minnesota has a large following on YouTube, where he vlogs about his daily life on the farm and uses social media to engage a more diverse population in the conversation of where their food comes from.
