Jeane Nylander, age 96, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at CHI-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 10 at the chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.  Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate.  No Visitation. Memorials may be made to the Aurora United Methodist Church.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Jeane Adelle Nylander, the daughter of Carl and Leona (Olson) Larson was born on April 2, 1923 at Lambert, Montana and passed away on July 29, 2019 in Grand Island, at the age of 96.
Jeane grew up in Wildrose, North Dakota and graduated from Wildrose High School.
Jeane was united in marriage to Vernon Gustav Nylander at Los Angeles.  Two sons were born to this union: Craig and Jay.  Most of their married life was spent in McCook, where she worked as a clerk and as a pianist for Herschberger Music in McCook.  They retired to Arizona.  Vernon passed away in April of 1990.  Jeane moved to Aurora seven years ago where she resided at the Hamilton Manor and then to Westfield Quality Care.
Jeane attended the Congregational Church in McCook.  She enjoyed writing poetry and she especially enjoyed playing the organ and piano.   
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and son, Jay Nylander.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Craig Nylander of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Lynne Nylander of Aurora; three grandchildren, Brian (Lindsay Touslee) Nylander of Austin, Texas, Kelsey Nylander of Aurora and Erin Harbeck of Waterloo, Nebraska; 5 great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
