Flood relief plan, maintenance top Hampton agenda

Hampton village leaders reviewed bids on a proposal to help relieve flooding issues on the north side of town and also heard concerns from local citizens regarding a lack of summer maintenance around the community during Monday’s monthly meeting.
Discussion began with a report from Tyler Hillmer with Miller & Associates, who advised the board of a plan to more than double the amount of drainage pipe on 1st Street near East 14th Road (also known as the blacktop) and White Blossom Court. The board had requested a report based on a continued problem of water coming in from an adjacent farm field to the east and flooding streets and basements in that area.
