Volunteers sought to help emergency vehicles on rural roads

Due to concern over the conditions of Hamilton County rural roads Commissioner Roger Nunnenkamp would like to gather a list of area farmers and individuals capable of assisting stranded emergency vehicles should the need arise. This request, not on behalf of the board of commissioners, comes after reported discussion with Hamilton County Sheriff Kirk Handrup.
“I’m looking to develop a list of farmers in the rural areas that have poor roads in their area, that know that their roads would be bad in case of another rain event, that would be available to pull ambulances and fire engines through,” he said.
These individuals would provide needed assistance with their own equipment. This compiled list of volunteers will be provided to emergency dispatchers, so that they may call listed individuals in the area of the issue to come and assist.
Nunnenkamp requested that those interested in volunteering contact him via email at nute23c@hamilton.net, providing their name, location and cell phone number.
