Troubling times for county roads

With the recent excess of rain across the state of Nebraska, County Highway Supt. K.C. Pawling addressed the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners Monday with updates on the status of rural roads here at home.
His presentation included a list of indefinitely closed roads, due to washouts or collapsed culverts and focused on answering some of the questions he had recently been hearing.
“Some of the questions I’ve been asked are about where the roads are closed,” Pawling began. “So I put together a little FYI sheet here. That’s a copy of what we send to dispatch and the emergency manager every week. We keep them updated on the road closures, where, why and how.” Detailed story in this week's ANR.
